Harkening back to antique rings found at swap meets and on your grandpa's hand, our signature signet style is designed to be well worn. Made with either sterling silver, 14k/18k gold or platinum, the ring will only get better with age. Lapis Lazuli has been prized since antiquity for its intense color. During the Middle Ages and Renaissance it was ground down and made into ultramarine, the finest and most expensive of all blue pigments. Lapis Lazuli is often flecked with pyrite, combining the blue of the heavens and golden glitter of the sun.

Due to its sky-blue appearance lapis has been known throughout centuries as the stone of the gods, sent from heaven. In today’s belief, Lapis Lazuli is associated with wisdom, love and healing.

Historical Significance & Lore

Lapis lazuli has been prized for over 6,000 years, but reached its pinnacle during the Renaissance when it was ground into ultramarine - the most expensive pigment in the world, worth more than gold. Renaissance masters like Titian, Raphael, and Vermeer reserved this precious blue almost exclusively for painting the Virgin Mary's robes. The brilliant celestial color simultaneously signaled Mary's divinity and the patron's wealth, with commission contracts explicitly specifying its use.

Stone Symbolism

Lapis represents wisdom, truth, and inner vision. Its deep celestial blue has made it a symbol of the quest for knowledge and honest communication throughout history. The stone embodies clarity of thought, intellectual pursuit, and the courage to speak truth with integrity.

Geological Deposit

The finest lapis has historically come from the ancient mines of Afghanistan's Badakhshan province, though these mines have been linked to conflict financing and unethical labor practices. Due to these concerns, the lapis in our rings is exclusively sourced from pre-existing estate collections, vintage stock, and artisan offcuts - materials already in circulation that require no new mining.

Our Promise

While aesthetics are key in our designs, we believe true craftsmanship also considers where materials come from and how they’re made. We have a responsibility to our planet to design with intention and integrity, creating pieces that carry meaning and legacy without waste. Our approach to sustainable men’s jewelry is simple: use what already exists.
