Harkening back to antique rings found at swap meets and on your grandpa's hand, our signature signet style is designed to be well worn. Made with either sterling silver, 14k/18k gold or platinum, the ring will only get better with age. The Tempest Stone is an aggregate made up mainly of Tigers Eye & Hawks Eye, technically called Pietersite. Tempest is derived from the swirling mass of rich ochre, rusty gold & beautiful blue luster that shines when shifted in the light. This stone symbolizes transformation and necessary chaos while also representing strength and willpower

Since no two Tempest Stones are the same and each has its very own, one-of-a-kind patterning, when you purchase this ring, we will reach out and work with you to find the perfect piece of stone for you.

Historical Significance & Lore

Pietersite, known in jewelry as Tempest Stone, was first discovered in 1962 by Sid Pieters in Namibia. Though relatively new to the gem world compared to ancient stones, it quickly captured attention for its dramatic swirling patterns of deep blues, golds, and reds that mirror storm clouds and turbulent seas. Its striking chatoyancy - the way light moves across its surface - evokes lightning flashing through a tempest.

Stone Symbolism

Tempest represents change, transformation, and the strength found in life's storms. Its swirling patterns serve as a reminder that periods of upheaval often precede growth, and that there is beauty to be found even in chaos. The stone embodies resilience and the courage to weather any tempest.

Geological Deposit

Pietersite is one of the world's rarest gemstones. The most prized specimens, featuring rich blues and golds, come from a single mine in Namibia. The tempest stone in our rings is sourced directly from the mine.
