Historical Significance & Lore

Turquoise has been revered for millennia across cultures - from the Pharaohs of Egypt to the Aztec emperors, from Persian palaces to Native American sacred ceremonies. In the American Southwest, turquoise has been mined and treasured for over a thousand years by Ancestral Puebloans, Navajo, Zuni, and Apache peoples who considered it a bridge between earth and sky, a stone of protection that could guard warriors in battle and shamans in spiritual journeys.

Stone Symbolism

Turquoise represents protection, healing, and good fortune. Its sky-blue color has long symbolized open communication and connection to the natural world. The stone embodies peace, strength, and the deep bonds between humanity and the earth.

Geological Deposit

While turquoise is found across the globe, some of the world's most prized specimens come from the American Southwest - particularly the high desert mines of Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, and Colorado. We source our turquoise from a variety of miners, rockhounds, and small mines throughout the region, always seeking out pieces with interesting patterns and unique coloration.
